Clean, gentle and quietly sweet: the cup to share with someone new to Blue Mountain coffee.

Island Blue is 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee from estates on the steep slopes of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains, carefully graded and produced to Jamaica Blue Mountain export standards.

The cup. Clean, mild sweetness with a bright but gentle acidity, a smooth, creamy body and subtle chocolate and nut undertones. It is the coffee we suggest to anyone tasting Blue Mountain coffee for the first time.

Ready to brew. Three bags, ground for your drip machine, pour-over or French press. No grinder needed, which makes this the easy choice for a gift.

“It’s not easy to find pure Jamaican Blue here in the US. I’m so glad I tried One Happy Coffee! My brother absolutely loved it.”

Judy G., verified buyer

Why there’s so little of it. Blue Mountain coffee grows only in a small, certified area of eastern Jamaica, on slopes too steep for machines. Every cherry is picked by hand, and only a limited amount is produced each year.

Why buy it from us. We are Barrington and Sara, the family behind One Happy Coffee. Barrington first tasted Blue Mountain coffee as a baby in Jamaica, from his great-grandfather’s cup, and we have spent about 16 years in coffee since. We are an authorized online reseller of Island Blue and a Certified Distributor of Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee, so every bag arrives genuine and in its original sealed packaging.

Questions people ask

Is it 100% Blue Mountain coffee?
Yes, 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee.
Is it JACRA certified?
Yes. Before any coffee can be exported as Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee, it is inspected and certified by JACRA, the Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority. What JACRA certification means.
How should I store it?
Keep the opened bag sealed, cool and out of the light. Ground coffee tastes best within a few weeks of opening; the other bags stay sealed until you need them.
How should I brew it?
About 2 tablespoons of coffee to 6 oz of water just off the boil. Pour-over, drip and French press all suit it. Taste it black first.
I like a stronger cup. Is this for me?
This is a medium roast: smooth and gentle rather than bold. If you like a deeper, stronger cup, try Island Blue Dark Roast.
When will it arrive?
This one ships from our US stock, usually in 3 to 5 days. The delivery time under the price is always the current one.
Are you an authorized seller?
Yes. We are an authorized online reseller of Island Blue and a Certified Distributor of Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee.

WHOLE BEAN OR GROUND?

Grind it just before you brew

For the best cup, choose whole bean and grind it right before brewing. The aroma stays locked inside the bean, and once coffee is ground it fades much faster.

Ground is here for convenience: if you don’t have a grinder, or the coffee is a gift. Keep the bag sealed, store it somewhere cool and dark, and enjoy it within a couple of weeks of opening.

HOW TO BREW IT

Getting the best cup

Start with about 2 tablespoons (10 g) of coffee per 6 oz of water just off the boil. Grind whole beans just before brewing: medium for drip, coarse for French press. Taste it black first: a mild, clean Blue Mountain coffee rarely needs sugar.

Using an AeroPress? Try about 15 g (2 rounded tablespoons) ground medium-fine, 7 oz of water just off the boil, a gentle stir, 1½ to 2 minutes of steeping, then press slowly for about 30 seconds. It gives a clean, smooth cup that shows off Blue Mountain coffee’s mild sweetness.
