Blue Mountain coffee for people who like their mornings bold.

Most dark roasts trade smoothness for strength. This one keeps both. It is 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee, grown on the steep slopes of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains and roasted in Jamaica, then taken to a dark roast that deepens the flavour without losing the clean, mellow finish Blue Mountain coffee is known for.

The cup. Dark chocolate and toasted nuts, a subtle sweetness, a full, smooth body and naturally low acidity. Strong enough for espresso, smooth enough to drink black.

Who it’s for. Some customers tell us a medium-roast Blue Mountain coffee is too gentle for them. This is the one we point them to: the same mountain, with the volume turned up.

Why there’s so little of it. Blue Mountain coffee grows only in a small, certified area of eastern Jamaica, on slopes too steep for machines. Every cherry is picked by hand, and only a limited amount is produced each year.

Why buy it from us. We are Barrington and Sara, the family behind One Happy Coffee. Barrington first tasted Blue Mountain coffee as a baby in Jamaica, from his great-grandfather’s cup, and we have spent about 16 years in coffee since. We are an authorized online reseller of Island Blue and a Certified Distributor of Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee, so every bag arrives genuine and in its original sealed packaging.

Questions people ask

Is it 100% Blue Mountain coffee?
Yes, 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee.
Is it JACRA certified?
Yes. Before any coffee can be exported as Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee, it is inspected and certified by JACRA, the Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority. What JACRA certification means.
Will a dark roast taste bitter?
Not this one. The darker roast brings out chocolate and nut notes, and the bean’s naturally low acidity keeps the cup smooth rather than harsh.
How should I brew it?
French press, drip, pour-over and espresso all suit it. Start with about 2 tablespoons to 6 oz of water just off the boil.
Whole bean or ground?
Whole bean keeps its aroma longest. Grind just before you brew, and keep the open bag sealed, cool and out of the light.
When will it arrive?
It ships directly from Jamaica, with delivery in 7 to 15 business days. The delivery time under the price is always the current one.

WHOLE BEAN OR GROUND?

Grind it just before you brew

For the best cup, choose whole bean and grind it right before brewing. The aroma stays locked inside the bean, and once coffee is ground it fades much faster.

Ground is here for convenience: if you don’t have a grinder, or the coffee is a gift. Keep the bag sealed, store it somewhere cool and dark, and enjoy it within a couple of weeks of opening.

HOW TO BREW IT

Getting the best cup

Start with about 2 tablespoons (10 g) of coffee per 6 oz of water just off the boil. Grind whole beans just before brewing: medium for drip, coarse for French press. Taste it black first: a mild, clean Blue Mountain coffee rarely needs sugar.

Using an AeroPress? Try about 15 g (2 rounded tablespoons) ground medium-fine, 7 oz of water just off the boil, a gentle stir, 1½ to 2 minutes of steeping, then press slowly for about 30 seconds. It gives a clean, smooth cup that shows off Blue Mountain coffee’s mild sweetness.
