Rich enough to linger on, gentle enough to drink all morning.

Gold Standard is Jablum’s higher grade of 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee: the same mountain and the same hand-picked care, with the bean selection taken a step further. That is why it costs more than regular Jablum. It is grown on the steep slopes of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains, roasted in Jamaica and vacuum-sealed in a 1 lb bag.

The cup. Smooth and rich, with a mild acidity and a naturally sweet finish.

Who it’s for. Someone who already knows Blue Mountain coffee and wants the best Jablum makes, ground and ready for the drip machine or French press. It also makes a generous gift for the coffee lover who has everything.

Why there’s so little of it. Blue Mountain coffee grows only in a small, certified area of eastern Jamaica, on slopes too steep for machines. Every cherry is picked by hand, and only a limited amount is produced each year.

Why buy it from us. We are Barrington and Sara, the family behind One Happy Coffee. Barrington first tasted Blue Mountain coffee as a baby in Jamaica, from his great-grandfather’s cup, and we have spent about 16 years in coffee since. We are an authorized online reseller of Jablum and a Certified Distributor of Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee, so every bag arrives genuine and in its original sealed packaging.

WHOLE BEAN OR GROUND?

Grind it just before you brew

For the best cup, choose whole bean and grind it right before brewing. The aroma stays locked inside the bean, and once coffee is ground it fades much faster.

Ground is here for convenience: if you don’t have a grinder, or the coffee is a gift. Keep the bag sealed, store it somewhere cool and dark, and enjoy it within a couple of weeks of opening.

HOW TO BREW IT

Getting the best cup

Start with about 2 tablespoons (10 g) of coffee per 6 oz of water just off the boil. Grind whole beans just before brewing: medium for drip, coarse for French press. Taste it black first: a mild, clean Blue Mountain coffee rarely needs sugar.

Using an AeroPress? Try about 15 g (2 rounded tablespoons) ground medium-fine, 7 oz of water just off the boil, a gentle stir, 1½ to 2 minutes of steeping, then press slowly for about 30 seconds. It gives a clean, smooth cup that shows off Blue Mountain coffee’s mild sweetness.
