Decaffeination removes about 97% or more of the caffeine in coffee beans. A typical cup of decaf coffee has about 2 mg of caffeine, compared to a typical cup of regular coffee, which has about 95 mg of caffeine.
Brewing Instructions for Better Coffee:
- Use fresh -ground coffee.
Brew with water heated to between 195 and 205F.
- Use 1.6–2 grams coffee per 1 oz (28 grams) water, adjusting to taste.
- Store coffee in an airtight container, out of direct sunlight, and away from heat, cold, and moisture.
